MINOR LEAGUE CRICKET 2022 SEASON OPENING AND CHAMPIONSHIP DATES RELEASED

Minor League Cricket (MiLC) announced today that its second season will launch with matches on Saturday, June 25 and run for eight weeks of regular season action in the summer of 2022. America’s first and only national T20 championship will conclude with Conference Semi-finals held Aug. 20-21 and the Championship Finals Weekend over Aug. 27-28.

“Following the most extensive tournament in American cricket history taking place successfully in 2021, we can’t wait to bring back an even stronger Minor League Cricket Championship in 2022,” said Justin Geale, Tournament Director, Minor League Cricket. “The commitment shown by our Minor League Cricket teams to growing the game in their communities and developing players will see the sport take further significant strides this year, with MiLC providing a critical pathway to the USA National Team.”

The first season of MiLC in 2021 featured 27 teams competing in over 200 matches, with more than 500 players taking part, and a similar scope of competition scope is expected for the league’s second season this summer. The nationwide structure of Minor League Cricket, divided into two geographic conferences with two divisions each, will remain in place this year. The full schedule for the 2022 season will be released later.

A variety of enhancements to broadcast plans, an expansion of MiLC’s fan-friendly “Cricket for the Community” program on match weekends and details on the 2022 player draft will be announced in the run-up to the season.
